Fylde's Inter Regional Processor allows systems of greater than 10 sites to be constructed. The IRP is based on an industrial grade PC with a silicon RAM or Fast Flash drive for improved performance. There are no moving parts associated with the call set-up aspects of operation and traditional hard disk drives are only used for booting the machine and logging call information.
The Main Features of Fylde Inter-Regional Processor
The IRP can be implemented either with or without a PCM switch at the same site. If implemented without a PCM switch, inter regional audio circuits will need be assigned between each regional node. If a PCM switch is used with the IRP, a Star/Delta configuration can be implemented for greater reliability. Note that if Inter-Regional Group calls are required then the IRP must have a locally connected PCM switch, unless the system is only 2 regions.
